Color Ideas for Your Kitchen Makeover

If your family is anything like my family, the kitchen is one of the busiest rooms in the house: its where we eat, its where we cook, its where we gather and socialize with friends.

With all of this action, it is very important that your kitchen fits your style and is a welcoming space for your family and friends. No one wants to be in a room that they don’t like. If you are thinking about remodeling your kitchen, check out these 10 color ideas to give your kitchen a makeover.

White

If you are going for a classic, clean look, then white is the right color for your kitchen. You can always add pops of colors through decorative bowls and utensil holders, fixtures, appliances, hand towels, and even plants. 

Cream or Light Taupe 

Cream and lighter taupe colors are a good substitute if you think that white isn’t a good fit for your kitchen. These colors are still light enough to give your kitchen the same clean look as white does but with just a hint to color. Creams and lighter taupes are also good if you decide to go for a bold accent wall as these colors often complement many bolder shades. 

Grey 

Are you going to a more contemporary look for your kitchen? If so, then grey just might be the color for you. Grey will instantly give your kitchen a sophisticated look. Try pairing the grey with brass figures and other neutral colors. 

 

Brown 

Often times, people will shy away from brown colors in their homes because they can make a room feel dark and small. It doesn’t have to be that way in your kitchen. Yellow 

Yellow is known for bringing happiness and sunshine. It is also a great color to pick for your kitchen if you want a brighter room. Add yellow as an accent wall or as a pop of color on your cabinets to give your kitchen a bright, fresh atmosphere. 

     

Green 

Green is a good, unique color if you want your kitchen to be the fun room in your house. Different shades will give you a retro, an invigorating, and even a calming effect to your room. Lighter green walls with natural wood finished cabinets can give you kitchen a fresh, garden-like feel. 

Red

Black 

Going for a sleek, modern look in your kitchen? Try using the color black. While this color might not be your go-to color in your house, it is a great way to give your kitchen a modern makeover. You don’t even need to use black as a wall color. Black countertops or appliances paired with cream walls and stainless-steel fixtures will give your kitchen a contemporary look you are going for. 

 

With all of these options, and so much more, it can be really hard to pick just one color. If you can’t decide which color you like best, pick several! Pick colors that complement one another and paint your cabinets, walls and trims these colors. This will give your kitchen a fresh, fun, youthful feeling and will definitely be a conversation starter at your next party!
